hello
My name is Kelly M… and I have been seeing things since 1976…
My first experience with photography was through my father Mike, who primarily used his camera for his real estate career There were of course photos of family events and the like. This led to an opportunity to use his gear while attending Lafayette High School in Lexington where I am from originally. They offered a drafting/photography elective class! This was my first experience taking pics myself. And it was using film and the school had their own darkroom so I processed the film and the enlargements myself! Black and white film in those days was much more forgiving to process so the class focused its efforts there and began a love for that style.
Film and gear was expensive and little practice was achieved in those early days. My more prolific practice came as a small handheld Sony digital camera my father-in-law Earl purchased for my wife Kimberly and I in 2004. As we all know digital pics can be easily deleted and new ones created. Freedom! And with that camera I experimented and push its limits to see what kind of things could be seen. I still have some of this captures.
In 2009 my son Colin was born and I purchased a digital SLR. Although a base model is was quite a step up from the Sony point and shoot. Around this time I was laid off from my full time job and made photography my full time gig. I was actually hired for some events and worked under some other photographers. Most notable was Chris at Triple Play Pro.
My interest in the pics themselves is capturing what is with little to no interfering. People, places, and things and freezing them in time, and a certain space are my main goal in the pictures I take. Pics are our only means of time travel!
120 comes from the Bible. Romans 1:20 states that the existence of God should be plainly understood by what we see everyday. There is evidence of him and taking pics of these things is a way of proof of God’s existence.
I want us, including me, to see these things and believe and hope and have peace!
Currently I am not offering services. Gear still remains expensive and iPhones have given us all the power of time travel. I myself am only using my iPhone to capture things. Maybe one day I will venture out again to capture things for you.
But feel free to reach out, I would love to help anyway I can…
things need to be seen?
